He was an absolute nobody yesterday...

Re: Lanzini
Not sure he has "lost it" as it could be argued where he ever had it.

There is a misconception that before his injury Lanzini was this amazing player who consistently performed every week.
If you ask Slaven Bilic, David Moyes and the fans who have memories beyond the past 18 months he was just as inconsistent as most of the other players in our squad over the past 4 years.

I don't remember Lanzini being especially great during our first 2 seasons at the LS when we were getting smashed most home games and involved in relegation battles. Look at his stats/goals/assists.

I think he’s lost it and we’ve seen the best of him.

Poor decision making in front of goal yesterday and last week!

Re: Lanzini
The problem we’ve got is that lots of our players are hyped, but don’t really score.

Penalties aside, Cresswell / Masuaku, Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna / Balbuena, Noble, Rice, Anderson and Lanzini collectively will probably get us about 12 goals. That puts a huge strain on the likes of Antonio, Yarmalenko and of course Haller to find the back of the net.

The best clubs have goals all over the park. We don’t have that luxury

Re: Lanzini
A brilliant player hampered, as most of our better ones are by the one or two individuals who can always be relied upon to slow down play when we are in possession and allow the defending team to regain their shape. There is a player who plays in a pivotal position who is by far the worst offender at this.

Re: Lanzini
For pass completion, one of the very best at the club. For 2 of his 4 seasons he was top. Might be again this season.

For key passes (passes leading to a chance), currently our top player this season by some distance.

Of the 4 lightweight AM types in the squad, I have him down as the best in terms of work ethic and actually getting back into position reliably.

For goal threat he seems to run about even with most of our creative attacking players on xG. Yes it would be nice if he scored more.

In short, there's nothing wrong with the jewel. Either our best player or very close.
